standards-based resources
Our membership helps middle grades social studies teachers with feeling overwhelmed with finding resources that fit the GA state standards, the time it takes to create new activities for their classroom, and finding the time to fit it all in by providing ready-to-use standards-aligned classroom resources and giving ongoing support that keeps their classroom activities fresh, so they can bring passion back into their teaching and get their nights and weekends back!
Our mission
Provide standards-based activities for the middle school social studies classroom
The Social Studies Teacher Society is dedicated to providing high-quality resources that are aligned with Georgia’s State Social Studies Standards to middle school teachers.
In addition to resources for the classroom, the Social Studies Teacher Society hosts quarterly webinars. Member-needs are a driving force in webinar topics.
This membership also offers a close-knit community in a private Facebook group. Here, members share advice, wins, and support one another.
Meet sarah
I’m a former middle school teacher, instructional technology coach, and a literacy enthusiast. I am committed to helping Social Studies teachers grow, create, and conquer their content. My primary focus is on guiding teachers in teaching complex social studies standards in a way that is easy for young learners, while using literacy strategies as a tool to guide instruction.
I am a server at heart, and my main goal is to take some stress off of you, so you can get back to enjoying your students!
